The Zero Waste to Nature through EPR virtual seminar held from November 16 to 17, 2023 was a success with participants from the government and private sectors from around the country.
Attendees appreciated the information they gained including an overview of the EPR law, Waste Diversion Credit, EPR program flow and the process flowchart. They also learned about the different roles and responsibilities of each key player in the EPR scheme and got inspired by case studies. New technologies that can help achieve zero waste to nature were also presented.

Chock is the Senior Environmental Management Specialist at the DENR-Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) under the Environmental Education Section of the Environmental Education and Information Division. He is also the National Ecology Center (NEC) Interim Personnel under the Planning and Management Information System Unit.

Nelson de Luna
Founder, CEO and General Manager of Ecowaste Management Company
Nelson is the Founder, CEO and General Manager of Ecowaste Management Co., which provides services and programs that aim to reduce, and eventually, eradicate the huge amount of garbage in the Philippines through a more environmental and integrated approach to solid waste management. He is also the CEO and General Manager of Polytrader Plastic Products and CEO of Circular Systems Technology Inc. He is the Founding President of Montana Conservation Camp and President of the United Recyclers Organization of the Philippines. In addition, he is member of the Solid Waste Association of the Philippines and the National Ecology Center of the Philippines. His company is a recycling partner of PARMS and a waste diverter of PARMS and PPCP. Nelson has a wealth of knowledge and experience in solid waste management.

Daisy M. Coroza
Secretary General of the Polystyrene Packaging Council of the Philippines
Daisy M. Coroza is the Secretary General of the Polystyrene Packaging Council of the Philippines (PPCP), organized in 1993 to be the official clearing desk on industry-related issues. It is a prime mover on the advocacy of recovery and recycling of post-consumer polystyrene products, thereby promoting ani-littering, waste segregation, recycling technologies and alliances towards environmental awareness and social responsibility.

Chen Reyes – Mencias, EnP
Tourism Planning Consultant of Blue Water Consultancy, Training and Services
Chen is an Environmental Planner who specializes on sustainable tourism planning and ecotourism enterprise development. She authored several planning tools that had been designed to help clients and community partners come up with tourism plans that are pragmatic and implementable. Chen advocates responsible travel, and supports community-based initiatives. She believes that inclusive growth can truly occur when marginalized sectors of a tourism destination are taken on board as active participants in the growth of a local tourism industry. She also conceptualized Ecotourism Philippines, a brand carried by several rural communities in outstanding natural locations in different parts of the Philippines. For the last fifteen years, Chen has been providing technical assistance to local government, NGOs, national government agencies and private companies on tourism planning and ecotourism development. She is a retired SCUBA diving instructor who had been involved in marine conservation projects for many years. Reader’s Digest Asia and Australia presented her the Hero for Today title for her deep involvement in marine environmental conservation work. She is also the recipient of the Environmental Enhancement Award given by the International Underwater Foundation. Chen is a graduate of the UP Asian Institute of Tourism, Miriam College Environmental Studies Institute and UP School of Urban and Regional Planning.
